This historic building, which we have named Gamla Ráðhúsið or the old City Hall was designed by legendary Icelandic architect Sigvaldi Thordarson. The building was originally built for the Mýrarsýsla Savings Bank but later it was expanded and hosted the local municipal government for decades.
The current owners began renovating the building in 2021, resulting in a beautifully restored house that will host both domestic and international travelers, as well as welcome businesses, families, and groups of friends.
